In Luke 15, Jesus tells a series of parables directed towards hypocritical Pharisees and scribes, and how He came to save sinners. In the third parable, he speaks of a son who leaves his father – only to have his father accept him back with open arms. We will examine how:
· The Father holds no one against their will
· The son leaves the security – of his Father
· Bad things happen when the son distanced himself – from his Father
· The son makes the decision to return to the one who can relieve his misery – his Father
· The son is welcomed home – by his Father
· There is a celebration for the son’s return – by his Father
